Allan L. Miller, 84, of Lexington, TN, formerly of Parsons, passed away Wednesday, January 18th, at Houston County Community Hospital.
Allan was born January 7, 1939 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Leonard and Marie Miller.
After attending school in the Northeast where he lived, he served in the Army National Guard for 8 years and worked in several different machine shops. He married Mary Jane Hunt in 1959 in NJ and to this union was born his 4 children. After purchasing land near Parsons in 1971, he moved his family here in 1972. He built 2 homes on this property. The street where he owned land and lived was named after him. Allan worked at Kaddis Mfg. in Parsons from 1974-2002. While working there, he owned and operated the Collectors Shop from 1982-2008. He married Joann Stone Milam in 1976 and they were married for 32 years. After closing the Collector Shop in 2008, he enjoyed traveling for a while. He married Frances Becker in 2017 and they moved to Lexington, TN in 2018 to be closer to their necessary medical care. Medical issues left Allan mostly at home since 2016.
Allan is survived by his wife, Frances Becker Miller, of Lexington, TN; a daughter, Jennifer (David) Ditto, of Oak Ridge, TN; two sons, Leonard (Karen) Miller, of Knoxville; Daniel (Sherry) Miller, of Parsons, TN; the children of his wife, Frances - Brad (Betty), Kim (Chuck) and Randy (Sandy).
He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren - Melissa King, of Tampa, FL, Holly Miller Wood (Landon), of Lexington, TN, Hunter Miller, of Louisville, KY, Ashley LaDuke, of Oak Ridge, TN and Andrew Miller, of Knoxville, TN; 8 Great Grandchildren - Lucus & Levi Wilkinson, of Lexington, TN, Brooke Bentley, of Tampa, FL, Michael & Jacob LaDuke, of Oak Ridge, TN, Sadie & Hadley Wood, of Lexington, TN, and Mason Miller, of Knoxville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Donna Miller, son-in-law, Ricky Moore and a younger sister, Marilyn.
His Funeral Service will be held at Reed's Chapel, Decaturville, TN, at 11 AM on Friday, January 20th, with burial to follow in Crossroads Cemetery in Parsons.
Visitation will be Thursday 12 PM - 8 PM and Friday 9 AM until service.
