Bryan Edison Keeton, of Bath Springs, passed away at the Keeton homeplace in the Dunbar community on Feb. 27 at the age of 84. Mr. Keeton was preceded in death by his parents, Bedford and Ora Keeton; his brothers, Charles Keeton and Billy Keeton; his sisters, Ruth Lafferty, Helen Hearington and Dorothy Blankenship; and his sons, Paul Keeton and Joel Keeton.
Mr. Keeton is survived by his son, Tim (Janet) Keeton and two grandchildren, Emily Keeton and John Lawson Keeton, all of Bath Springs; two sisters, Marjorie Fiddler and Sue Reynolds; one brother, Donald Keeton; daughter-in-law, Amy Keeton of Decaturville; and a step-grandson, Jonathan (Shelby) Wallace of Selmer.
Bryan was a pillar of the Bath Springs community, serving in many roles over his life, including owning and operating Keeton’s Grocery and driving a school bus for the Decatur County School System. He was currently serving on the following boards: Board of Directors at Decatur County Bank, vice-president of Decatur County Farm Bureau and the Quinco Board of Directors. He was also a faithful member of the Bath Springs United Methodist Church.
Bryan enjoyed remembering and telling stories about hauling livestock to Union Stockyard in Nashville, Tenn. He was a lifetime farmer, an excellent father, and the very best granddaddy. Visitation will be held at Reed’s Chapel in Decaturville Tuesday, March 2 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Services will be held at Reed’s Chapel. The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 3 at 2 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service.
