Edward "Mutt" Mayo

Mr. Edward "Mutt" Mayo of Decaturville, TN was born Tuesday October 6, 1936 to the union of the late Charlie and Exie Thompson Mayo. Mr. Mayo proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to the former Rachel Holt, who precedes him in death. Mr. Mayo left this walk of life entering into eternal rest on Friday September 16, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital making his stay in this life some 85 years, 11 months and 11 days. 

Surviors include his children, Welvon Mayo and wife Shelia of Decaturville, TN; Wilburn "Bull" Mayo and wife Carol of Reagan, TN; Tina Burns and husband Robert of McMinnville, TN. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Gib, Junior and James Mayo and three sisters, Louise Mayo, Lorene Young and Agnes Phillips. 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday September 18, 2022 beginning at 3:00 PM at the Decaturville Pentecostal Church with Brent Mayo and Raymond Roach officiating. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 17, 2022 beginning at 4:30 PM and again on Sunday September 18, 2022 from 9:00 AM until service time at 3:00 PM all at Decaturville Pentecostal Church. Internment with military honors will follow at Gray's Chapel Cemetery.
