Georgia Royce (Smith) Pitts

Georgia Royce Smith Pitts, 72, of Decaturville, TN, passed away Wednesday, September 28th, at Jackson-Madison Co. General Hospital after a brief illness. 

She was born April 24, 1950 in Decatur County to the late Frank and Irene Smith. She was an electrical engineer and had last worked for the Department of Energy at the Savannah River Plant in South Carolina. Mrs. Pitts was a long time member of Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. Pitts is survived by her husband, Jimmy Dale Pitts of Decaturville; three daughters, Jimmie Diane Britt  (John), of Decaturville; Melessa  Dickert  (Rick), of South Carolina; Sarah Sherman, of Lexington; a sister, Lillian Gibbons, of Decaturville; two brothers, Jody Smith (Deb), of Decaturville; James Lynn Smith, of Decaturville. 
 
She is also survived by 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 2 more on the way.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Hamilton and a brother, Stanley Smith.

Her Funeral Service will be held at Reed's Chapel, Decaturville, TN, at 2 PM on Saturday, October 1st,  with Bro. Jim Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. 

Visitation is Friday 3 PM - 9 PM and Saturday 9 AM until service.
