Janice Ann Strawn, 67, of Parsons, TN, passed away Monday, September 20th, at St. Thomas Mid-Town Hospital in Nashville.
She was a Riverside High School graduate, was retired from the Decatur County Chamber of Commerce. Serving as the Director of the Chamber, Janice was a participant in the Governor's Three-Star Program 2000-2006, established and directed the Decatur County Leadership Class 2000-2006, assisted with the establishment of the Decatur County Education Foundation and served as a board member and participated in the JTPA Workplace Initiative. Janice had worked in administration at Swan Hose in Lexington. Janice was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she served 20 years as church treasurer.
Janice is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Max L. Strawn, of Parsons; two daughters, Misty (Jerry) Lowery, of Parsons; Amy Strawn, of Parsons; two sisters, Gwen Pope, of Parsons; Sharon (Johnny) Bell, of Parsons.
She is also survived by 3 Grandchildren - Chana & Khamon Garrett, of Parsons and Shelby (Aaron) Folden, of Decaturville; 1 Great Grandchild - Anniston Bailey; mother-in-law, Butonne Jackson, of Parsons; sister-in-law, Renae (Danny) Lomax, of Decaturville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Cloyd, her mother, Nellie Jean Burton, a brother-in-law, Randy Pope.
Her Funeral Service will be held at Corinth Baptist Church, Darden, TN, at 2 PM on Thursday, September 23rd, with Bro. Don Franks and Bro. Brad Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday 4 PM - 9 PM and Thursday 10 AM until service at Corinth Baptist Church.
Masks are preferred during the visitation and funeral service.
