June Pope Obituary

Margaret June Pope, age 81, of Jackson, TN went home to God on Thursday, October 14, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ethel Mae Teague White and Bonnie Clayton White, her brothers Bonnie White Jr. and Stanley White, and her sister Juanita White Woods.

She leaves behind her loving husband of sixty-two years Albert Lee, three sons, Albert Carlton, Jeff (Donna), and David, eleven grandchildren, Spencer (Rachel), Katie (B.J.), Emileigh (Joseph), Sarah (Logan), Brett (Craig), Rachel, Alex, Riley, Casey, Connor, and Paden. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Drake, Essie Drew, Haddie, and August.

June and Albert's business ventures took them all around Middle and West Tennessee, living in Nashville, Lebanon, Bath Springs, Paris, and Jackson in different periods throughout her life. Encouraged by Albert's entrepreneurial spirit, June wore many hats throughout her life. A graduate of Decaturville High School in 1959, she worked at Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, spent many years as a homemaker, and in 1978 worked with Albert at their business Mid-South Ready Mix. In 1981 she worked at Keeton's grocery, while also working as a school bus driver. She later worked with her family at Daisy Mart in 1987 and in 1988 she and Albert purchased Nash Concrete, changing the name to Pope Concrete and Building Supply, where she worked until her grandbabies started to arrive in 1992. She later supported Albert in his business at Jackson Sand Plant. She was an extremely hard worker, but it was clear to all who knew her that the job with which she was most dedicated was that of Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.

A deeply selfless, caring person, June lived her life for God, family, and friends. She had an unshakeable faith and a deep personal connection to God. While still in good health, she was active in her worship at Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, and in her free time she enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her grandchildren. She always thought of others in her life first and was tireless in her efforts to place the needs of her loved ones above her own through her love, care, good humor, stories, and delicious cooking.
