Ray Autry Jones

Ray Autry "Cooter" Jones, 81, of Parsons, TN, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. 

He was a native of Greene County, NC and has called Tennessee his home for 42 years. He was the son of the late William Simon Jones and Clyde Rose Jones. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Jones and sister, Marie "Bunt" Meadows. 

He was a retired setup technician in the garment factory business. He loved to repair and restore furniture and old cars and he loved fishing.

Mr. Jones is  survived by his life partner of 30 years, Margie Arnold, of Parsons; a son, William Autry "Audie" Jones , of Ayden, NC; daughters, Lisa  Murphy, and husband Wren, of Snow Hill, NC;  Jennie Vangritis, and husband Kevin, of Apex, NC; step sons,  Randy McDonald, and wife Connie,  of Middleton; Joe McDonald, and wife Stephanie, of Middleton;  a brother, William Jones, and wife Bettie, of Washington, NC. 
 
He is also survived by 1 Grandson - Daniel Murphy, and wife Amber, of Snow Hill, NC;  7 Step Grandchildren - David McDonald, and wife Michelle, of Bolivar, TN, Cindy McDonald, Brittney Knowles, Justin Duffy, Sofia McDonald, all of Middleton, Brenden Knowles, of Boston, MA, and Sarah NcDonald, of SC; and 2 Step Great Grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death was and step grandson, Ben McDonald.

Graveside Services will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery, Parsons, TN, at 2 PM on Tuesday, November 3rd,  with Randy McDonald officiating. Burial will follow.
