Thomas Jerry Carrington, 81, of Decaturville, TN, passed away Sunday, August 2nd, in Nashville.
He was a self employed carpenter. His carpenter career began around age 12. Jerry has built over 40 houses in the Decatur County area. He was a member of Perryville Baptist Church and regularly attended Bath Springs Baptist Church with his daughter and grandchildren. Jerry was an avid outdoors man and loved to deer and turkey hunt. He was a loyal Tennesse Vol and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved his children and grandchildren and his happiest times were spent with them.
Jerry is survived by two daughters, Allison (Jack) Downs, of Decaturville, TN; Amber (Ronald) Wyatt, of Bath Springs, TN; a son, Wade (Lisa) Carrington, of Woodland Mills; a brother, James ( Robbie) Carrington, of Columbia, TN.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Madilyn (Justin) Brown, Jerrie Carrington, Jay Thomas Downs, Jaxon Downs, Ella and Grace Wyatt and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Owen and Virginia Brown.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Betty Wade Carrington, his mother and father, Herbert and Lillie Pearl Carrington and a sister, Dorothy Carrington Brasher.
His funeral service will be held at Perryville Baptist Church, Parsons, TN at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 5th, with Andy Brasher and Rob Ellard officiating. Burial will follow in Perryville Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday 3 PM - 8 PM at Reed's Chapel - Decaturville and Wednesday 11 AM until service at Perryville Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Perryville Cemetery Fund or Bible Hill Cemetery Fund.
The family request if attending visitation or funeral, please wear a mask and practice social distancing guidelines. Only individually wrapped food items are allowed to be brought to family. Thank you for your cooperation.
